Department of Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology was established in the year 2001 and in the same year itself the department has started offering B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering and B.Tech. programme in Information Technology with an intake of 60 per Branch. The major strength of the department is highly qualified and experienced faculty with specialization in main areas of computer science and engineering and information technology. State-of-the-art facilities are available in all the labs to train the students capable of meeting the requirements of present and future.

The Department offers two batches of B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). Computer Science and Engineering is highly technical and demanding discipline that offers rewarding and challenging possibilities for the students. It is a broad and flexible degree program with the curriculum specifically designed to reflect the depth and breadth of computer science, which tend to develop strong theoretical and analytical skills. Computer science offers a foundation that permits graduates to adapt to new technologies and new ideas. The department provides state of the art computing facilities to the students. The Department offers one batch of B. Tech in Information Technology(IT). IT and CSE are the disciplines within the same realm of study. Information Technology is an academic discipline mostly dealing with industry oriented learning. It involves more practical that have more “real world” applications such as database management and networking, data querying and more. The department provides state of the art computing facilities to the students. Graduates from the department are most wanted by both academia and corporates.

M.Tech in Computer Science

Dura­tion of Pro­gram: 2 Years

Seats (First year in take): 24 Students

The Department offers a Post Graduate course “M Tech in Computer Science and Engineering” with a specialization in the field of computer science and its related aspects. It is a two years course divided into four semesters. The course is designed to provide domain specific skills and knowledge to the master’s level students so as to equip them with a holistic knowledge of the subject that will enable them to persecute the learning in a practical sense.

Post Graduates in Computer Science and Engineering have a wide range of job opportunities like Software engineers, application developer, network engineer, hardware engineer etc. After completion of post-graduation, one may pursue Ph.D in the said subject.
